MorphMove
A small strategy board game where every piece changes shape after it moves, with a daily puzzle.
Every day: A numbered daily puzzle position, the same for everyone: win as the given side within a set number of moves (for example, hold 3 centre tiles in 3 moves) against the computer's best replies. New puzzle: Daily.

MorphMove is a free browser strategy game played on a small board with a cross in the middle. Each piece moves one square in the directions its shape shows and then turns into its next shape, and you win by holding three squares of the cross. Besides games against the computer or a friend, there is a numbered Daily puzzle with a move limit.
About MorphMove
MorphMove is a two-player abstract strategy game. The board has a cross of squares in its centre, and the goal is to have three of your pieces in the cross in a way that your opponent cannot push any of them out on the next turn. Pieces come in shapes such as triangles, diamonds and stars; each shape moves one square in the directions it points, either to an empty square or by swapping places with an enemy piece. After every move a piece takes on its next shape, and a swap changes both pieces and cannot be reversed straight away.
The Daily mode gives everyone the same numbered puzzle each day. You get a starting position, a side to play and a short goal, such as occupying three centre tiles so they cannot be pushed out within three moves, and the computer answers each of your moves. Your daily streak is tracked, and an archive lets you replay earlier puzzles.
Outside the daily you can play the computer at increasing levels, earn a rating, or challenge a friend. The site describes it as a fast strategy game inspired by fast chess and the New York Times games.
It suits chess and puzzle players who enjoy short tactical problems, and anyone curious about a new abstract game that can be learned in a minute.

Tips
- Before moving, check what shape the piece will become and where it can go next.
- A swap changes both pieces, so it can also cripple an opponent's piece.
- Watch advanced stars: a swap can leave them stranded as triangles, as the game's own tips warn.
- Play a few full games against the computer to learn the shapes before the daily.
