CNA's Mini Sudoku for October 06, 2026: a six by six grid with grey given digits, beside undo, hint, candidate and number buttons

Mini Sudoku is the small daily sudoku on CNA Games, the puzzle page of the Singapore news channel. Fill a six by six grid so that 1 to 6 appear once in every row, column and box, with a timer running and notes, candidates and hints to help. It is free on the website and in the CNA app.

About Mini Sudoku (CNA)

CNA's Mini Sudoku is a six by six sudoku published every day on the news channel's games page and in its app. It runs on PuzzleMe from Amuse Labs, and the date of the grid is printed under the board.

The rules are those of classic sudoku made smaller: the digits 1 to 6 go once into each row, each column and each of the six boxes of three by two cells. A day's grid starts with about a third of its cells given, so a solve takes a few minutes.

The board has a number pad, pencil marks for notes, undo and redo, a button that shows candidates for one cell or the whole grid, and a Hint. The Assist menu can check or reveal, and you can ask a friend to join you on the same grid. When you finish, CNA shows your time and sends you back tomorrow; the CNA app adds a winning streak, badges and archived puzzles.

It suits players who like LinkedIn's Mini Sudoku or a quick warm-up before a full 9x9 grid.

How to play Mini Sudoku (CNA)

  1. Open Mini Sudoku on CNA Games; the day's dated grid loads.
  2. Choose an empty cell and tap a digit from 1 to 6 on the pad.
  3. Make sure no digit repeats in any row, column or 3x2 box.
  4. Use the pencil to note candidates in a cell, or Show candidates to see them all.
  5. Keep filling cells until the whole grid is complete.

Tips

  • Look for a row, column or box with five digits already placed: the sixth is forced.
  • Scan one digit at a time across all six boxes to find where it can still go.
  • Save Hint for the end if you want an unaided time.
