LUCK IT, level 12: a 5x5 board of coloured regions with two four-leaf clovers placed and red Xs marking ruled-out squares, and a Hint button below

LUCK IT is the Star Battle puzzle, the same idea as LinkedIn's Queens, with four-leaf clovers. Plant one clover in every row, column and coloured region without any two touching, and solve the one Daily Challenge board everyone in the world shares.

About LUCK IT

LUCK IT, by HuntForge, is the classic Star Battle puzzle in a warm paper-and-ink style, with stars swapped for hand-drawn four-leaf clovers. Its own page compares it to LinkedIn's daily Queens, and the rules are the same: the board is divided into irregular coloured regions, and you place one clover in every row, every column and every region, with no two clovers touching, not even at a corner.

Right-clicking marks a square with an X to rule it out. Every board has exactly one solution reachable by pure deduction, so you never have to guess. The campaign has 500 levels growing from 5x5 to 9x9, with bronze, silver and gold medals for how much of the clock you have left; Endless serves new boards for as long as you like, and Relax removes the timer.

The Daily Challenge is one board a day that everyone in the world solves. Hints and a 300-step undo help when you are stuck, and the game plays offline on Windows.

It suits Queens players who want the same puzzle in a desktop game with a shared daily board.

How to play LUCK IT

  1. Launch LUCK IT on Steam and open the Daily Challenge.
  2. Place one clover in every row, every column and every coloured region.
  3. Never let two clovers touch, not even diagonally.
  4. Right-click to mark squares that cannot hold a clover.
  5. Solve the board; there is always exactly one solution.

Tips

  • Start with the smallest region; its clover has few possible squares.
  • When a region fits inside a single row or column, rule out the rest of that line for other regions.
