Guess the Bear (Bear Minimum)
Rate itWatch a bear get dressed up one doodle at a time and name what it is meant to be from as few features as you can.
Every day: One numbered bear a day (Guess the Bear #3 on Oct 7, 2026), the same for everyone: a plain bear is dressed up one doodled feature at a time, and you name what it is meant to be in six tries, from as few features as you can. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Guess the Bear is the daily solo puzzle on Bear Minimum, a drawing game. Each day the same plain bear outline is dressed up as something, one doodled feature at a time, and you guess what it is. Every miss or skip adds another feature, you have six tries, and the fewer features you need the better your score.
About Guess the Bear (Bear Minimum)
Guess the Bear is a small daily puzzle on Bear Minimum, a draw and guess game where every drawing starts as a bear and leaving things off earns points. Here the roles are turned around: Bearnard, the game's host, does the drawing and you do the guessing. Each day there is one numbered bear, the same for everyone, and a new one arrives at midnight UTC.
The puzzle opens on a plain seated teddy bear in black outline. Press Start drawing and Bearnard adds the first feature, a small coloured doodle somewhere on the bear. You type what you think the bear is dressed up as and press Guess, or skip to see more. Each miss or skip adds another feature, and a row of six squares under the drawing tracks your six tries. A close guess with a spelling slip gets a hint to check your spelling.
Scoring is the number of features you needed: one feature is the best result, and Bearnard grumbles more with every line he is made to draw. At the end the features are labelled, and you can share your result, keep a streak, see how many tries your wins took, and rate the bear as too easy, just right or unfair. Missed days can be played from past bears, though they do not count toward your streak.
Some of the doodles come from Google's Quick Draw doodle dataset, resized and recoloured, as the page credits. The game is free in the browser with no sign-up, and progress stays on your device. The same site also has a daily drawing prompt and rooms for drawing with friends.

Tips
- Look at where a doodle sits on the bear: something on the head, the paws or the belly narrows down what costume it belongs to.
- Guess early if you have a fair idea; a wrong guess costs the same as a skip.
- Think of the most familiar version of a thing, since the features are simple doodles rather than detailed drawings.
- Watch the spelling hint: a near miss is flagged so you can fix it.
