About Granbluedle

Granbluedle is a guessing game built around the weapon list of Granblue Fantasy, the Cygames browser and phone RPG. It was made by one person behind the RudyTudySubs translation site, who names Wordle and Isaacle as its models, and it is not affiliated with Cygames. Its weapon data comes from the English and Chinese Granblue wikis and is updated every couple of months.

Every day at 05:00 Japan time a new weapon is picked for everyone. You type the name of any weapon, and a row appears with its picture and eight columns: release date, element, weapon type, series, whether it has an awakening, its max uncap, how it is obtained and its weapon skills. Green means a match, orange a partial match, and arrows on the date tell you whether the answer is older or newer. Element follows the game's own wheel, so a guess that the answer resists or is weak to shows as partial.

The game is dressed as a Granblue battle. Your character starts with 16,500 HP and loses some with each wrong guess, so the day is lost if the HP hits zero. Guesses also fill a charge bar, and spending it on Skybound Arts unlocks hints: the weapon's description, its skills, a blurred picture or its letters.

By default the pool leaves out story event, tie-in and ordinary gacha weapons, since many of them look alike; Hard mode puts them back in and grows the list from about 858 to 1,372 weapons. Endless mode gives as many extra weapons as you like, and a Japanese option switches the names to the game's Japanese ones. It suits Granblue players who know their grids and raid drops; someone new to the game will find most guesses a long shot.

How to play Granbluedle

1. Open Granbluedle and close the How to play box with Understood.
2. Type the name of any Granblue Fantasy weapon in the guess box and pick it from the list.
3. Read the row that appears: green columns match the day's weapon, orange ones partly match, and arrows on the release date point toward the answer's year.
4. Use the matches to narrow down the element, type, series and drop source, then guess again.
5. Spend your charge bar on Skybound Arts for a hint if you are stuck, and find the weapon before your HP reaches zero.
6. Share your result, or play on in Endless mode.

Tips

• Start with a well-known raid drop such as an Omega or Grand weapon: in normal mode premium draw and story event weapons are left out, so they will not be the answer.
• Element is partial when the answer's element beats or is beaten by your guess's, so one orange element cuts six choices down to two.
• Skills are shown in a generalised form, such as Big Primal instead of the exact skill name, so match on the skill family.
• Save the blurry image hint for when the type and series are known; it is most useful when only a few weapons fit.
