Football Grid (Futbolle)
Rate itName a footballer who played for both clubs, nine times over.
Every day: One numbered 3x3 grid a day, the same six clubs for everyone on that date, to fill with footballers who played for both clubs in each cell, in nine guesses. New puzzle: Midnight in your own time zone.

Football Grid is Futbolle's daily club crossover puzzle: three clubs across, three down, and each of the nine cells wants a player who turned out for both. You have nine guesses, each player can be used once, and every cell is checked to have an answer. The same six clubs go to everyone each day.
About Football Grid (Futbolle)
Football Grid is the soccer version of the Immaculate Grid format, part of the Futbolle family of football puzzles. Each numbered board has three clubs along the top and three down the side, drawn fresh each day from the date, so everyone playing on that date gets the same six.
You type a player's name into the search box, and suggestions appear after two letters. You never pick the cell: if the player fits a square on the board, he drops into it by himself. If he fits nowhere, the game says so and the guess is still spent. You have nine guesses for nine cells, and each footballer can be used only once.
Every club in a player's senior career counts, loan spells included, but youth teams do not, nor do clubs he signed for without playing. Club histories come from Wikipedia career tables, and before a board goes out each cell is checked to make sure at least one valid answer exists.
The grid rewards knowing transfer routes over decades rather than today's squads, so a 1990s striker counts as much as a current one. It suits football fans who like Immaculate Grid and want one about club football.
How to play Football Grid (Futbolle)
- Read the club at the start of a row and the club at the top of a column; the cell where they meet belongs to that pair.
- Type a footballer's name in the search box and pick him from the suggestions.
- If he played for both clubs of a cell, he drops into it; if not, the guess is spent.
- Use each player only once, and fill as many of the nine cells as you can in nine guesses.

Tips
- Start with the cells that have the fewest answers you can think of.
- Keep well-travelled players for the cell where nobody else fits.
- Think of transfer routes over thirty years, not current squads.
- Loan spells count, so a one-season loan can be the answer.
Questions
Do loan spells count?
Yes. Any club in a player's senior career counts, loans included. Youth teams do not.
Can I use the same player twice?
No, each footballer can be used only once per grid.
When is there a new grid?
The site says a new puzzle comes every day at your local midnight.
Can a cell be impossible?
No. Every cell is checked to have at least one valid answer before the board is published.
