About Football Connections (Futbolle)

Each day Football Connections lays out sixteen player cards, each with a photo and a name. They belong to four hidden groups of four, and each group shares one real fact from their careers: the same club, the same nation, the same position or the same age.

You select four cards and press Submit. A correct group locks in as a coloured bar and leaves the board; a wrong one costs one of your four mistakes. If three of your four belong together, the game tells you you are one away.

The players come from six top leagues, the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and the Süper Lig, with data from Wikipedia and photos from TheSportsDB. Because groups are built from real attributes, a board often has more candidates for a link than it needs, and only four of them are right.

There is no points total: what you keep is whether you solved it and the order you found the groups, shared as a grid of coloured squares. A new board arrives at midnight in your own time zone.

How to play Football Connections (Futbolle)

1. Look over the sixteen player cards for links: clubs, countries, positions and ages.
2. Select four players you think share one link and press Submit.
3. A correct group locks in; a wrong guess costs one of four mistakes, and three right shows One away.
4. Solve all four groups before your mistakes run out, then share your result.

Tips

• If you can name more than four players for a link, it is probably not the group.
• Look for the least crowded link first, often age or position.
• Leave the same-club group until last; it is the easiest to find and the most likely bait.
• Shuffle the board to break the patterns you keep seeing.
