enclose.horse
Place a few walls to fence the horse into the biggest field you can.
Every day: One new map a day, the same for everyone: place a limited number of walls to trap the horse in the biggest pasture you can, with one submission, then compare with everyone's scores and the best solution. New puzzle: Midnight on your own device's clock (the game asks for the puzzle of your local date).

enclose.horse is a daily spatial puzzle. A horse stands on a grid of grass and water, and you have a fixed number of walls to place so that it cannot reach the edge, while trapping as many grass tiles with it as possible. Everyone gets the same map, you submit once, and then you see how others scored and the optimal answer.
About enclose.horse
enclose.horse gives you a small map of grass and water with a horse somewhere on it. The horse moves up, down, left and right, never diagonally, and it cannot cross water or walls. If there is any open path to the edge of the grid, it escapes. Your job is to tap grass tiles to turn them into walls, using no more than the puzzle allows, so that the horse is shut in, and to make its enclosure as large as you can, because every grass tile inside counts toward your score.
Some maps add bonus items that change the score if they end up inside the fence: cherries are worth 3 points, golden apples 10, and bee swarms cost 5, so you want those left outside. Portals teleport the horse between them, which makes a gap on one side of the map matter on the other. Tapping the horse shows where it can currently reach, which is the quickest way to spot a leak.
There is one new puzzle a day, the same for everyone, and you get a single submission, so the game is about checking before you commit. Afterwards you see the spread of everyone's scores and the optimal solution. A weekly challenge, past puzzles, a strategy guide, stats and a level editor with community levels round it out. It suits players who like spatial optimisation puzzles with a clear best answer.
How to play enclose.horse
- Look at the map and find the horse, the water and the edges it could escape to.
- Tap grass tiles to place walls, up to the number the puzzle gives you.
- Tap the horse to preview where it can reach and check for gaps.
- Make the enclosure as large as you can, keeping bee swarms out and cherries and golden apples in.
- Submit once, then compare your score with everyone else's and the optimal solution.
Tips
- Use water as free fencing: the best enclosures lean on lakes and rivers.
- Check every diagonal corner: the horse cannot move diagonally, so a wall touching another only at a corner still holds.
- Count before you submit; you only get one attempt.
- Read the strategy guide on the site for common patterns.
