Elemingle is a daily chemistry card game. You get a deck with a card for every element, each showing facts and trivia but not its atomic number; you swipe each card left or right for lower or higher than the mystery element, or up when you think you have found it.

About Elemingle

Elemingle turns the periodic table into a deck of cards. Every game starts with one card per element, and each card shows a lot about its element, such as its atomic weight, melting and boiling points, electronegativity and a few lines of trivia in the element's own voice, but never its atomic number.

There is one Mystery Element a day, the same for everyone. For the card on top, you swipe left or right depending on whether you think the mystery element has a lower or higher atomic number, or swipe up if you think this is the one. The aim is to find it with as few mistakes as possible, using what you know about chemistry, the hints in the cards' trivia and some deduction.

A countdown on the home page shows when the next element arrives, and you can browse the deck to preview the cards before you play. It suits chemistry students and anyone who enjoys Elementle but wants a game built on reading clues rather than comparing columns.

How to play Elemingle

  1. Open Elemingle and start the day's game.
  2. Read the top card: its facts and trivia, without the atomic number.
  3. Swipe left or right for a lower or higher atomic number than the mystery element, or up if you think it is the one.
  4. Find the mystery element with as few mistakes as you can.

Tips

  • Atomic weight rises with atomic number, so use the weight on each card as a guide.
  • State and melting point point to a region of the table: gases and metals sit in different places.
  • The trivia lines often mention the element's group or neighbours.
