Dogdle
Look at today's real shelter dog and guess both breeds in its mix in eight tries.
Every day: One numbered puzzle per day (#197 on 2 October 2026) showing a real shelter dog; everyone guesses the same two breeds in its mix within eight tries. New puzzle: Local midnight.

Dogdle is a daily dog breed guessing game built around real shelter dogs. Each day's puzzle shows photos of one dog and asks you to find the two breeds in its mix, with clues on size, shedding, grooming, coat, energy, lifespan and origin after each guess.
About Dogdle
Dogdle features a real shelter dog every day and turns it into a breed puzzle. Puzzles are numbered from #1 on 18 March 2026, each assigned to a date, so all players see the same dog on the same day.
You look at the dog's photos and type a breed name. Each guess is compared with the two target breeds on several traits: size, shedding, grooming needs, coat, activity level, lifespan and country of origin. Tiles mark exact matches, close or partial matches and misses, with arrows telling you to go higher or lower on size and lifespan. You have eight guesses to find both breeds, and a lightbulb next to each slot gives a hint if you are stuck.
When the puzzle ends, the game gives you an adoption link for the dog you just played (the site warns that some links may be out of date) and points to a donation page for the ASPCA. A calendar archive lets you play any past day you missed.
It suits dog lovers, people thinking about adopting, and fans of attribute-guessing games like Worldle and the many -dle games.
How to play Dogdle
- Look at the photos of today's shelter dog.
- Type a breed name, pick it from the list and submit.
- Read the tiles for size, shedding, grooming, coat, activity, lifespan and origin, with arrows for higher or lower.
- Find both breeds within eight guesses, then follow the adoption link if you like.
Tips
- Start with a common, mid-sized breed to get useful higher or lower feedback.
- Coat and grooming clues separate breed groups quickly, for example terriers from hounds.
- Origin narrows things a lot once you get a match.
- Use the lightbulb hint before your last guesses rather than after.
