Daily Jailbreak
A daily prompt puzzle: trick a guarded chatbot into calling the one function it was told never to use.
Every day: One guarded chatbot challenge a day, the same for everyone: write the shortest prompt that makes it call a forbidden function. New puzzle: Once a day.

Daily Jailbreak, on vaultbreak.ai, is a daily puzzle for people who write prompts. Each day you get a chatbot's system prompt and the name of a function it has been told not to call. Your job is to get it to call that function anyway, with the shortest prompt you can. Successful attempts are ranked by length on a leaderboard.
About Daily Jailbreak
Daily Jailbreak was launched on Hacker News in April 2025 by its developer as a Prompt Engineer's Wordle. The idea is one challenge a day, the same for every player, with a leaderboard for the best answers.
Each challenge shows you the system prompt that sets up a chatbot and a forbidden method the model was instructed never to invoke. You write a message to the model. If your message tricks it into calling the forbidden function, the attempt counts as a successful jailbreak. The shorter the prompt, the better: successful attempts are ranked on the leaderboard by length, with a token count, and your name is kept on the board if you are logged in.
The developer described the site as educational: a way to see how instructions to a model can be bent, and how short a working attack can get. Players in the launch thread got solutions down to under a hundred characters by, for example, feeding the model fake output that made its gate look already open. After a day's challenge, earlier solutions can be viewed. Players can also submit their own challenge prompts for future days.
The challenge is updated daily, and a harder Daily Difficult challenge sits beside it for players who want more.
How to play Daily Jailbreak
- Open today's challenge and read the system prompt and the forbidden function.
- Write a prompt that gets the model to call that function anyway.
- Submit it; a successful jailbreak goes on the leaderboard ranked by length.
- Try again with a shorter prompt to climb the board.
Tips
- Working with the instructions often succeeds where contradicting them fails.
- Cut every word you can once you have a working prompt; length is the score.
- Read yesterday's solutions to learn the tricks that worked.
