CodeDoku (English)About CodeDoku

CodeDoku daily Animals board with row clues large, scales, nocturnal and column clues wild, reptile, herbivore

CodeDoku is a daily grid puzzle where each of nine cells needs an answer that matches both its row clue and its column clue. Boards are themed, for example animals with clues like large, scales, wild or herbivore. Everyone gets the same board each day, and you have five lives.

About CodeDoku

CodeDoku is an indie browser game by Fernando Bittencourt, a Brazilian software engineer. Each day there is one 3x3 board on a theme such as Animals, Countries, Food or Sports. Three clues run along the rows and three along the columns, and every cell must hold a concept that satisfies both of its clues: an animal that is both large and a reptile, for instance.

You tap a cell, choose a concept from the list and submit one move at a time. You start with five lives, and only wrong answers cost one. Correct answers turn green and can be cleared if you want to reorganise the board, while wrong ones stay open for another try. Progress saves automatically, so you can come back later in the day.

The daily board is generated, checked and shared by everyone, and a More Puzzles mode offers extra boards at any time. The site is available in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and has achievements for signed-in players. It suits fans of Immaculate Grid style puzzles who want general-knowledge themes rather than sports rosters.

How to play CodeDoku

  1. Open the Daily Puzzle and read the theme, the three row clues and the three column clues.
  2. Tap a cell and pick a concept that fits both its row and its column.
  3. Submit the move; a correct answer turns green, a wrong one costs one of your five lives.
  4. Fill all nine cells before you run out of lives.
  5. Use More Puzzles for extra boards after the daily one.

Tips

  • Start with the most restrictive pair of clues, where only a few answers fit.
  • Use the ? buttons next to clues if a clue's meaning is unclear.
  • You can clear green answers to move them; do that before spending lives on a stuck cell.
  • Think of the obvious examples first; the theme lists favour well-known animals, countries and foods.
