Closer
Rate itFour quick daily puzzles, a number, a word, a place and a picture, scored by how close you get.
Every day: A numbered set of four puzzles a day, the same for everyone: Numbers, Words, Places and Widen, each scored by how close your guesses get, with a daily leaderboard. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Closer is a daily set of four short puzzles: find a number, a hidden word by meaning, a place on the map and what a widening picture shows. No guess is wrong; each one is scored by how close it is, and earlier guesses are worth more. The set takes about two minutes and has a daily leaderboard.
About Closer
Closer puts out one numbered set a day; on 5 October 2026 it was set #49. Each set has four puzzles, and the game's line is that there are no wrong answers, only the question of how close you can get. A colour bar from cold to hot shows where each guess lands.
Numbers asks you to find the day's number. Words hides a word whose meaning you close in on, with hints that unlock as you play. Places is a hunt across the world map where distance and direction guide you. Widen starts on a small part of a picture and shows more of it with each reveal until you can say what it is.
Scoring rewards getting close early: closer guesses score higher, each guess is worth a little less than the one before, and your best score of the round is the one that counts. The four scores go on a daily leaderboard, and a new set arrives at midnight UTC.
It suits players who want a short, varied set of puzzles rather than one long one, and who like hot-and-cold feedback more than right-or-wrong.

Tips
- Make your first guess count: each later guess is worth a little less.
- In Numbers, halve the range with each guess rather than creeping toward the answer.
- In Words, think of broad ideas first and narrow down once a guess runs hot.
- Only your best guess in a round is scored, so a bold guess costs little.
