Slovko (Словко) appeared in early 2022, when Lviv blogger Petro Nek adapted Wordle for Ukrainian. It quickly became the best-known Ukrainian version; the Lviv news site ZAXID.NET reported buying the game that year, and today it is hosted on the website of the news channel 24 Kanal as Словко 24.

The page says a new word appears every day and is the same for all players, so today's Slovko has a different word from yesterday's or tomorrow's. You type a five-letter Ukrainian word on the Cyrillic keyboard, including letters like Ґ, Є, І and Ї, and press Enter. Letters turn green when they are in the right place, yellow when they are in the word elsewhere, and grey when they are not in it.

The answer can be any part of speech but is always in its dictionary form, for example a noun in the nominative case or a verb in the infinitive. The rules also warn that a word can contain the same letter more than once.
