Wortquiz (t-online) is a daily Wordle in German. Each day there is one five-letter German word, the same for every player, and you have six tries to find it, with coloured tiles showing which letters are in the right place, which are in the word elsewhere and which are missing.

About Wortquiz (t-online)

Wortquiz (t-online) brings the Wordle formula to German. Every day there is one hidden word of five letters, the same for all players, and the aim is to find it in six tries or fewer.

You type real German words, using a keyboard with the letters of the German alphabet. After each guess the tiles change colour: one colour for a letter in the right place, another for a letter that is in the word but somewhere else, and grey for a letter that is not there at all. Each guess narrows down the answer.

Wortquiz is the Wordle-style game of the German news portal t-online, free to play on its games page.

It suits German speakers and learners who want their daily word puzzle in their own language.

How to play Wortquiz (t-online)

  1. Type any five-letter German word.
  2. Read the colours: right place, wrong place, or not in the word.
  3. Use the clues to choose your next word.
  4. Find the word within six tries.
