About Bukvik (Буквік)

Bukvik (Буквік) brings the Wordle formula to Ukrainian. Every day there is one hidden word of 4 to 8 letters, the same for all players, and the aim is to find it in six tries or fewer.

You type real Ukrainian words, using a keyboard with the letters of the Ukrainian alphabet. After each guess the tiles change colour: one colour for a letter in the right place, another for a letter that is in the word but somewhere else, and grey for a letter that is not there at all. Each guess narrows down the answer.

Bukvik offers the word of the day in lengths from four to eight letters, and around it a daily Quordle (Квордл), a Spelling Bee style game (Бджілка) and a meaning-based word game, all renewed at midnight with daily leaderboards and streaks. It is free with no registration.

It suits Ukrainian speakers and learners who want their daily word puzzle in their own language.

How to play Bukvik (Буквік)

1. Type any 4 to 8-letter Ukrainian word.
2. Read the colours: right place, wrong place, or not in the word.
3. Use the clues to choose your next word.
4. Find the word within six tries.

Tips

• Open with a word rich in common Ukrainian letters and vowels.
• Letters with accents or diacritics count as separate letters.
• Use your second guess on fresh letters to learn more.
