World Cup Time Machine title card with its gold clock-and-ball logo and the line Draft every legend 1970 to 2026

World Cup Time Machine is a football draft game: a wheel deals you a real World Cup squad from 1970 to 2026, you take one player for a slot in your eleven, and the finished team plays for the cup. The numbered Daily gives everyone the same draw, with a top 10 for the day.

About World Cup Time Machine

World Cup Time Machine lets you draft one team from across more than fifty years of World Cups. Each round the wheel rolls in a real squad, Brazil in 1970 or England in 2018, and you choose one player from it. The player's position decides which slot of your 4-3-3 he fills: a goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards, eleven rounds in all.

You are not stuck with every spin: two redraws let you bin a squad and spin again. Players carry traits, and three or four of the same trait, or a spread of five different ones, add combo bonuses to the team's raw rating. Once the eleven is complete, your side plays through a tournament, and the result and points go on the board.

The Daily is numbered, counting from the opening of the 2026 World Cup, and every player drafts from the same wheel that day, so scores compare directly on the day's top 10 and yesterday's champion is named on the home page. Outside the daily there is a classic mode, a World Cup 2026 mode, multiplayer drafts for two to six managers with friends, and an experimental Lab.

It suits football fans who enjoy building a fantasy side and arguing about eras, more than those after a quiz.

Tips

  • Save the redraws for later rounds, when only one or two slots are left and a bad spin hurts most.
  • Look at traits as well as ratings: three or four of the same trait, or five different ones, add combo bonuses.
  • Fill the scarce positions early; strong goalkeepers come up less often than forwards.
