WordroW (The National)
Rate itThe National's daily Wordle: six tries at a six-letter word, with colour clues.
Every day: One hidden six-letter word a day, the same for every reader, on The National's puzzles page; each day's puzzle has its own dated ID (wordrow-20261006) and earlier days stay in the list. New puzzle: Once a day; the game does not say at what hour.

WordroW is the daily word game on the puzzles page of The National, the English-language newspaper from Abu Dhabi. Each day there is one hidden six-letter word, and you have six guesses to find it, with colour clues after each one. It is free, though the site asks you to register a free account for unlimited access to its puzzles.
About WordroW (The National)
WordroW is The National's take on the Wordle formula, one of the daily puzzles on the paper's site alongside sudoku, killer sudoku, a jigsaw and a weekly quiz. The paper sums it up as six letters, six tries: one hidden six-letter word each day, the same for every reader.
You type a six-letter word on the on-screen keyboard or your own, and the game colours each letter to show whether it is in the word and in the right place, in the word but elsewhere, or not in it at all. Each guess can build on what the last one showed. You have six guesses to find it.
The game runs on Amuse Labs' PuzzleMe, the same WordroW engine that CNA in Singapore and several other publishers use, but The National's word list and daily puzzle are its own: each day's puzzle has its own dated entry, and earlier days can still be played. The site asks readers to register a free account for unlimited access to its content and puzzles.
The six-letter length makes it a step up from five-letter Wordle, with more room for common endings like -ING and -ER.
How to play WordroW (The National)
- Open WordroW on The National's puzzles page; register or sign in for free if the site asks.
- Type any six-letter word and press Enter.
- Read the colours: one marks a letter in the right place, another a letter that is in the word but elsewhere, and grey a letter not in it.
- Use those clues to choose your next guess.
- Find the hidden word within six guesses.
Tips
- Open with a word that has several common vowels and consonants, such as one with E, A, R and S.
- Six-letter words often end in -ER, -ED, -ING or -LY; test a likely ending early.
- A letter can appear twice, so do not rule out a repeat once the rest is narrowed down.
