WordLinx with Today's Word: BLUE, four rows of coloured spaces, 0 mistakes and 13 unused letters A C E I K N O Q R S T U Y, over the game's lynx artwork

WordLinx is a daily word game from SACS Games. A single word of the day is the clue, and four related words are hidden in rows of coloured spaces. You drag letters from the pool into place; spaces of the same colour hold the same letter, linking the words together.

About WordLinx

WordLinx starts with the word of the day at the top of the screen, such as BLUE, and four rows of empty spaces of different lengths below it. Each row is a word associated with the clue. The spaces are coloured, and letters that match between words share the same colour, so filling in one word gives you letters in the others. Highlighted spaces indicate repeated letters.

Under the board sits the pool of unused letters, with a count of how many remain. You drag and drop letters into the spaces to solve the puzzle, and the game counts your mistakes. A Hint button helps if you are stuck.

There is one puzzle a day, and a streak counter warns you when you are about to lose your streak. Stats and a help screen sit in the toolbar. WordLinx is free in the browser, with ads, on the SACS Games site.

Tips

  • Start with the shortest row: fewer letters means fewer possibilities.
  • Use colours shared by several rows first; one placed letter fills spaces in several words.
  • Think of phrases and compounds as well as things of the same kind as the clue.
  • Check the unused letters count to see how many letters are left to place.
