Word Search (Ponder Club)
Find the day's eight hidden words in a small grid, in any direction, against the clock.
Every day: One word search grid a day, the same for everyone: eight hidden words in an 8 by 8 grid, timed, with a daily leaderboard. New puzzle: Midnight Pacific Time, as the site states.

Ponder Club's Word Search is a short classic word search with one grid a day for everyone. Eight words hide in an 8 by 8 grid, running across, down, diagonally or backwards, and a timer records how fast you find them all. A zen mode offers random grids in three sizes for more.
About Word Search (Ponder Club)
Word Search is one of the daily games on Ponder Club, a free site of small word, number and logic puzzles made by Calli and Eden at Flying Comet Games. It is the plainest of them: a grid of letters and a list of words to find, with no theme to guess and no tricks.
The daily grid is 8 by 8 and holds eight words. They can run in any of eight directions, including diagonals and backwards, and you select one by dragging across its letters. A timer runs while you play, and when the last word is found your time goes on the day's leaderboard, with comments from other players beside it. The grid is built from the date in Pacific time, so everyone gets the same one, and it changes at midnight Pacific Time.
Earlier days can be played from the archive. For more practice, zen mode deals random grids at easy, medium or hard sizes (8, 10 or 12 letters across, with as many words) and lets you start a new one whenever you finish.
No account is needed, although one lets you keep a handle and appear on leaderboards. The site is free with ads; a one-time purchase removes them. The site itself suggests it as a companion to Strands for players who want a classic search rather than a theme hunt.
How to play Word Search (Ponder Club)
- Open Word Search on Ponder Club to start the day's grid and timer.
- Read the list of eight words below the grid.
- Drag across the letters of a word in any direction: across, down, diagonal or backwards.
- Keep going until every listed word is found.
- Check your time on the daily leaderboard, or try zen mode for more grids.
Tips
- Scan for rare letters such as Q, Z, X or J first; they pin down a word quickly.
- Look for double letters in the word list, which stand out in the grid.
- Check diagonals and backwards runs early, since most misses hide there.
- Work through the word list in order of length, longest first.
