Every day: One mystery NRL player a day, the same for everyone, to find in eight guesses. New puzzle: Midnight New Zealand time.

Who's the Lad? is a free daily NRL player guessing game from the New Zealand fan site Lads on Tour. You have eight tries to name the day's mystery player, and each guess shows how his club, position, nationality, height, weight, premierships and debut year compare.
About Who's the Lad? (Lads on Tour)
Who's the Lad? is the daily game of Lads on Tour, a New Zealand site of NRL quizzes and fan games aimed at Kiwi and Australian rugby league followers. A new mystery player is drawn each day from the current NRL player pool and goes live at midnight New Zealand time.
You search for any NRL player and he is laid out against the answer across seven columns: club, position, nationality, height, weight, premierships won and NRL debut year. Green is an exact match and red is a miss. Yellow means close: a club the player has been at before, a position in the same forwards or backs group, within 3 cm or 3 kg, within one premiership, or within two years of debut. Arrows on the number columns show which way to go. If you are stuck you can reveal a silhouette hint of the player.
You get eight guesses. A finished game can be shared as a text grid or saved as an image, and there is a challenge link to send a mate. Alongside the daily player, Bonus Lads offers seven extra archive challenges that do not count toward your streak. Streaks and stats are kept in your browser, and an optional free account saves them across devices and puts you on the streak leaderboard, with your NRL club as a badge.
It suits NRL fans who follow the current squads closely enough to tell a Storm back-rower from a Panthers one by height and debut year. The same site has a weekly NRL round quiz, an NRL higher-or-lower called Stat Duel and other sports quizzes.

Tips
- A yellow club tile means the answer once played for your guess's current club, so think of who has moved from there.
- Position works in groups: yellow means the right half of the team, forwards or backs.
- Height and weight within 3 cm or 3 kg show as yellow, so a mid-sized player in your first guess tells you a lot.
- Premierships narrow the field fast: most players have none, so a match on a nonzero count is a strong clue.
