Vennections gives you nine words to sort into three groups of three, one for each circle of a Venn diagram. Each correct circle reveals its category. Then you solve the Center Vennection, a new word that connects all nine words and all three categories, with optional hints for its first letter and length.
About Vennections
Vennections is a daily word puzzle laid out as a three-circle Venn diagram in red, yellow and blue. Each numbered daily puzzle starts with a word bank of nine words.
First you place three words in each circle. You can check one circle at a time or all nine words at once. Correct circles get a black outline and reveal their category; wrong placements show in red and cost a try.
With the three categories known, you solve the Center Vennection: a single word, not in the word bank, that belongs with all three groups. Two hints are available, the first letter and the number of letters. For a challenge you can skip straight to guessing the centre word against the clock.
There is an archive of earlier puzzles and extra beta packs. It suits fans of Connections-style grouping puzzles who also enjoy a final link word to tie everything together.
How to play Vennections
- Open today's Daily Puzzle and read the nine words in the bank.
- Place three related words in each of the red, yellow and blue circles.
- Press Check; correct circles reveal their category, wrong ones cost a try.
- Use the three categories to work out the Center Vennection.
- Type the centre word, using the first-letter or length hint if needed.
Tips
- Look for a word that could fit two groups and leave it until last.
- Once a category appears, ask what single word could belong to it and the other two.
- Try the challenge mode only when you spot the centre word straight away.
