The Szózat card: the name in green tiles with SZ as one tile

Szózat is a daily Wordle in Hungarian. Each day there is one six-letter Hungarian word, the same for every player, and you have eight tries to find it, with coloured tiles showing which letters are in the right place, which are in the word elsewhere and which are missing.

About Szózat

Szózat brings the Wordle formula to Hungarian. Every day there is one hidden word of six letters, the same for all players, and the aim is to find it in eight tries or fewer.

You type real Hungarian words, using a keyboard with the letters of the Hungarian alphabet. After each guess the tiles change colour: one colour for a letter in the right place, another for a letter that is in the word but somewhere else, and grey for a letter that is not there at all. Each guess narrows down the answer.

Szózat numbers its days (it has passed day 1,700). Hungarian digraphs such as SZ and GY count as one letter, so a six-letter word can be longer on paper, and you get eight tries.

It suits Hungarian speakers and learners who want their daily word puzzle in their own language.
