Swapcakes
Rate itSwap letters on a waffle grid until six crossing words read true, in fifteen swaps.
Every day: One dated board a day (Daily, Oct 5 on the page), the same for every player: 21 scrambled letter tiles forming three words across and three down, to sort out in fifteen swaps. New puzzle: Once a day; the board shows its date.

Swapcakes is a daily Waffle-style puzzle. Twenty-one letter tiles sit on a waffle-shaped grid of three rows and three columns of five letters; you swap pairs of tiles until all six words are right, with colours showing which letters are in place. You have fifteen swaps, and fewer used means more stars.
About Swapcakes
Swapcakes, served with a breakfast diner theme, is built around a waffle-shaped board: three five-letter words across and three down, crossing at nine shared tiles, 21 letters in all. Every letter you need is already on the board, scrambled. There is no keyboard and no guess box; you select one tile and then another to swap them, or drag a tile onto its place.
After each swap the colours update. A settled tile is right for its position; a warm tile belongs somewhere else in that word; an unhighlighted tile has no remaining use in that word. Because crossing tiles sit in two words, they are judged twice, once across and once down. You have fifteen swaps, and the result is rated in stars by how many you have left when the board is solved.
The daily board is the same for everyone and dated on the page, and you can share your result or challenge a friend. An Unlimited mode gives more boards, and the statistics screen counts games, wins, streaks and a star distribution.
How to play Swapcakes
- Open swapcakes.com and start the Daily board.
- Look at the colours: green tiles are placed, yellow tiles belong elsewhere in that word.
- Select two tiles to swap them, or drag one tile onto another.
- Keep swapping until all three words across and three down are correct.
- Finish within fifteen swaps; fewer swaps earn more stars.

Tips
- Solve the corner tiles first: each sits in two words, so its colours tell you the most.
- Before you swap, work out the likely words from the letters: a swap that fixes two tiles at once saves moves.
- Watch the crossing tiles: a tile can be right for one word and wrong for the other.
- Practise in Unlimited mode to learn common five-letter patterns.
