Daily Dose is Sporcle’s page of the day’s quizzes: a handful of short, timed games in set formats such as Word Ladder, Missing Word, Quick Pick and Mini-Crossword, each on a different topic. A new set goes up at midnight Eastern Time, and earlier doses can still be played from the same page.

About Sporcle Daily Dose

Sporcle is a large quiz site where players write and play timed trivia quizzes on almost any topic. Daily Dose is its daily corner: one page with the day’s set of quick quizzes, dated, that every player sees.

Each format has its own shape. Word Ladder asks for a chain of themed words that change one letter at a time. Missing Word fills a gap in titles, phrases or quotes. Mixed Word is a set of anagrams. Quick Pick has you click the right answers from a list against a short clock. Get the Picture is a picture-based multiple choice quiz, Short Order asks you to drag a few items into the right order, Word Hunt is a small word search, and Mini-Crossword is a grid of no more than 64 squares.

The quizzes are written by Sporcle users and picked for the Daily Dose, so the topics range from films and music to history, sport and wordplay. Most take between 30 seconds and three minutes. A new set goes up at midnight Eastern Time, and the page also lets you go back through past doses.

Daily Dose suits people who want a quick, varied quiz break rather than one long puzzle. With a free account Sporcle also tracks a daily play streak.

How to play Sporcle Daily Dose

  1. Open the Daily Dose page to see today’s date and quizzes.
  2. Pick a quiz and press play to start its timer.
  3. Type or click your answers before the time runs out.
  4. Check the answers you missed at the end.
  5. Move on to the next format in the day’s set.

Tips

  • Word Ladder answers change one letter at a time, so a solved rung gives you most of the next one.
  • Quick Pick lists often mix in decoys, so read every option before you click.
  • Start Mini-Crosswords with the shortest entries; the grid is small enough that each one opens up several more.
  • Missed a day? Earlier doses are on the same page.
