Scraps
Rate itSpend a shared pool of letter tiles to make as many four-letter words as you can.
Every day: The same 30 letter tiles and the same run of up to 15 four-letter patterns for every player each day, seeded by the date. New puzzle: Midnight local time (the seed is your local date).

Scraps shows a four-letter pattern with some letters fixed, such as _A_S, and a pool of vowel and consonant tiles with a count on each. You fill the blanks to make a word, spend those tiles, and get the next pattern; the run ends when your tiles cannot make a word. Everyone gets the same tiles and patterns each day.
About Scraps
Scraps is a small daily word game about spending letters wisely. At the start you have 30 tiles, split into vowels and consonants, with a number on each showing how many of that letter you hold. The top of the screen shows a four-letter pattern in which some squares are already filled; you tap tiles into the empty squares to make a real word and press Submit.
Each word uses up the tiles you placed, and a new pattern appears. The patterns are fixed for the day and there are up to fifteen of them, so the game is about choosing words that leave you with useful letters for later: spending your only Y early, or all your vowels on one pattern, can end the run. When you are stuck, Give Up ends it, and your word count is shown against the global top score, the global average and a distribution of everyone's results.
The game is independent and ad-free, with a link to support its developer on Ko-fi. You can copy your results or the list of words you found and review the board afterwards.
How to play Scraps
- Open letterscraps.com to see the first four-letter pattern and your 30 tiles.
- Tap tiles into the empty squares to make a valid four-letter word with the fixed letters.
- Press Submit: the tiles you used are spent and the next pattern appears.
- Keep going, choosing words that save the letters you will need later.
- When no word can be made, or you press Give Up, compare your word count with the global top and average.
Tips
- Watch the small counts on each tile: a letter with one copy left is worth saving.
- Prefer common consonants like S, T and N over rare ones you may need for a hard pattern.
- Use vowels sparingly early; patterns with blanks in vowel spots will need them.
- Copy the word list afterwards to see where your run went wrong.
