QuadWords is the Quordle-style game on Gridgames. Every word you type counts as a guess on four boards at once, and you have nine tries to find all four hidden words, with a daily set in each language.

About QuadWords (Gridgames)

QuadWords is part of Gridgames, a collection of free logic and word puzzles for the browser and Android from Gridgames GmbH. It is the four-board version of the site's daily word game GridWords, and it is offered in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Hungarian, Dutch and other languages, each with its own keyboard.

The idea is the one made popular by Quordle. There are four hidden five-letter words, and each word you type is entered on all four boards at once. On every board the letters are coloured to show whether they are in the right place, elsewhere in that word, or not in it at all. You have nine guesses to solve all four.

The daily game gives a set of words per language, and your statistics are kept for each language separately. Because one guess feeds four boards, the challenge is choosing words that help on the boards you have not cracked yet while finishing the ones you have.

It is free with ads. It suits Wordle players who want more per day, and learners who want to practise a language they are studying.

How to play QuadWords (Gridgames)

  1. Open QuadWords on Gridgames and choose your language.
  2. Type a five-letter word and submit it; it is entered on all four boards.
  3. Read the colours on each board separately: right place, wrong place or not in that word.
  4. Use the clues to solve the boards one by one with your next guesses.
  5. Find all four words within nine guesses.

Tips

  • Use your first two or three guesses to cover many common letters before trying to solve any board.
  • Once a board is solved, choose guesses that test letters still open on the other three.
  • Watch the keyboard colours, which sum up what you know across the boards.
