PokéRating's daily puzzle is a Wordle-inspired Pokémon game. You have six guesses to find the day's Pokémon; each guess shows whether its name starts with the same letter or comes earlier or later in the alphabet, whether its generation, Base Stat Total and fan rating are the same, higher or lower, and which types it shares.

About PokéRating Daily Puzzle

PokéRating is a Pokémon site with a Pokédex and fan rankings, and its daily puzzle sets one mystery Pokémon a day, the same for every player.

You have six guesses. For each Pokémon you name, a row shows five kinds of clue: whether the mystery Pokémon's name starts with the same letter or comes earlier or later in the alphabet; whether it comes from the same, an earlier or a later generation; whether it shares either of your guess's types, with single-type Pokémon counted as having None as their second type; whether its Base Stat Total is higher, lower or the same; and whether it is rated higher or lower than your guess by the site's users.

The alphabet, generation and stat clues let you close in from three directions at once, and the rating clue is a twist only this site can offer, since it comes from PokéRating's own community votes. A stats panel tracks your plays, solves and streaks.

It suits Pokémon fans who know the generations and base stats well.

How to play PokéRating Daily Puzzle

  1. Search for any Pokémon and press Guess.
  2. Read the row of clues: letter, generation, both types, Base Stat Total and rating.
  3. Use the higher, lower and same hints to narrow down your next guess.
  4. Find the Pokémon within six guesses and check your stats.

Tips

  • Start with a Pokémon from a middle generation whose name begins mid-alphabet and whose stats are average.
  • Use the generation and letter clues together to cut the field fast.
