Pixelogic has been publishing nonograms (also called picross, griddlers or paint-by-numbers) for over 16 years, and okayest! studios released this Steam edition in November 2025. The pitch is plain: no cartoon characters or gimmicks, just puzzles made by people.

A nonogram is a grid with number clues beside each row and column. Each clue lists the lengths of the filled runs in that line, in order. Using those clues and some deduction, a bit like a mix of sudoku and minesweeper, you work out which cells are filled until a hidden picture appears. Sizes range from Easy 5x5 grids to Expert 25x25.

The daily part is the featured puzzles: two new puzzles every day and an extra-large puzzle each week, shared by all players, with worldwide statistics showing how your solve compares. The featured puzzles and their archive need an internet connection. The Steam version gives unlimited access to the back catalogue of more than 6,000 past daily puzzles.

There is also a full puzzle creator for making and sharing your own grids, dark mode and themes, and support for mouse, keyboard, touch or gamepad, including Steam Deck. It suits nonogram regulars who want a steady daily habit and a huge archive to work through.

1. Buy and install Pixelogic on Steam, and stay online for the featured puzzles.
2. Open today's daily puzzles.
3. Read the row and column clues and fill the cells they force, marking cells that must stay empty.
4. Complete the grid to reveal the picture and see how you rank worldwide.

• Start with lines whose clues nearly fill the whole row: overlapping runs give certain cells.
• Mark empty cells as you find them; they matter as much as filled ones.
