Mosaik

The Tages-Anzeiger Spiele app: a Mosaik grid of numbered rectangles and the home screen listing Mosaik, Wortsuche and Pinpoint

Mosaik is the Tages-Anzeiger's daily spatial puzzle in the Shikaku style. You draw rectangles on the grid until every cell is covered, placing shapes correctly into the mosaic, so each rectangle contains one number equal to its area.

About Mosaik (Tages-Anzeiger)

Mosaik asks for spatial thinking: draw rectangles on the grid until all the cells are filled. In the app's words, you place shapes correctly into the mosaic. Each rectangle surrounds one number, and its size matches that number, as in the Japanese puzzle Shikaku.

A timer runs while you work, and the finished board turns into a colourful patchwork of rectangles. Every reader gets the same grid each day.

It is one of the Tages-Anzeiger's daily games, collected under TA Spiele in the browser and in the paper's app, alongside Wortsuche, Pinpoint, Flow, Bimaru, the sudoku and the crossword. Each game has an archive of earlier days.

It suits fans of calm logic grids such as Shikaku, Queens or Pips.
