Mosaico (Cruciverba Lab)
A daily card solitaire with the Neapolitan deck: place sixteen cards on a 4x4 grid and build poker hands.
Every day: One deal a day with the Neapolitan deck, the cards coming out in the same order for everyone until the next midnight (Italian time); one scored game per day counts toward the daily and monthly leaderboards. New puzzle: At midnight Italian time.

Mosaico is the daily card solitaire on Cruciverba Lab, played with the Italian Neapolitan deck. Everyone gets the cards in the same order each day; you place sixteen of them on a 4x4 grid over four rounds and score every row, column, the corners and the discard pile as poker hands.
About Mosaico (Cruciverba Lab)
Mosaico is one of the daily games on Cruciverba Lab, an Italian puzzle site with a daily crossword and word games such as Alveare, Catena and Chiave. It is a solitaire played with the Neapolitan deck familiar from scopa and briscola: denari, coppe, bastoni and spade. Since 1 October 2026 the deck leaves out the 2s to 5s, so each suit has the ace, 6, 7, fante, cavallo and re, twenty-four cards in all.
A game lasts four rounds of five cards. Each round you place four cards anywhere on a 4x4 grid and discard the fifth. At the end, every row, every column, the four corners and the discard pile form a four-card hand scored like poker: pair, two pair, three of a kind, straight, flush. The ace can follow the king in a straight. Corners count double and the discard pile triple, but the discard only pays if all nine other hands score at least a pair, so you cannot hide your best cards there. The site credits Puzzmo's Pile Up Poker as the inspiration for the placing mechanism.
The deal changes at midnight Italian time and is the same for everyone until then. The day's game is free for all; with a free account your score joins the daily and monthly leaderboards (up to 1000 points per game) and you can reopen the last three days. The full archive needs Premium.
It suits Italian card players and fans of Pile Up Poker who want one considered deal a day.
How to play Mosaico (Cruciverba Lab)
- Open Mosaico on cruciverba-lab.it.
- Each round you get five cards: place four on the 4x4 grid and discard one.
- After four rounds, each row, column, the corners and the discard pile are scored as poker hands.
- Make sure every line has at least a pair so the tripled discard pile pays, then compare your score on the leaderboard.
Tips
- Plan for the corners early: they count double.
- With only six values per suit, pairs come often; aim for at least one in every line first.
- Keep strong cards out of the discard unless the rest of the grid already scores, since an empty hand zeroes the discard.

Yes. A free account adds leaderboards and the last three days; the full archive needs Premium.
Why did my discard pile score nothing?
The discard pays triple only if all nine other hands have at least a pair.
