Pokle is a daily Texas Hold'em deduction puzzle. You see three players' hands and a table of how they ranked after the flop, the turn and the river, and you have six attempts to guess the exact five community cards, with Wordle-style colours on each guess.

About Pokle

Pokle borrows the guessing structure of Wordle and applies it to a hand of three-player Texas Hold'em. All three players' hole cards are shown, along with a ranking table: who was ahead, second and third after the flop, after the turn and after the river, and with what kind of hand. Your job is to name the five board cards: three for the flop, in any order, then the turn and the river.

Each guess is marked card by card: green means the card is exactly right, yellow means either the suit or the rank is right. Many boards might fit the rankings, but only one is the answer, so the colour feedback matters. A few rules keep it fair: there are no kickers on the board, meaning every board card's rank plays a part in someone's pair, trips or better at some stage, and if you get everything right except the suit of the turn or river, the game corrects it for you.

A new puzzle arrives at midnight each day and is the same for all players, numbered from the game's start in July 2022. It suits poker players who know hand rankings well and puzzle fans who like deduction with a clear structure.

How to play Pokle

  1. Study the three players' hole cards and the ranking table for the flop, turn and river.
  2. Tap cards to build a guess of five board cards: three flop cards, the turn and the river.
  3. Submit and read the colours: green is the exact card, yellow means the rank or the suit is right.
  4. Use the clues and the rankings to find the exact board within six attempts.

Tips

  • Start from the river rankings, where the final hands are clearest, and work backwards.
  • Remember that every board card's rank is part of someone's made hand at some point; there are no kickers.
  • Flop order does not matter, so focus on which three cards, not their order.
  • Read the help screens before your first and second games; the rules have nuances.

Questions

Is Pokle the same puzzle for everyone?

Yes. The puzzle is chosen by the date, with a new one at midnight.

What do the colours mean in Pokle?

Green is the exact card; yellow means either the suit or the rank is correct.

Do I have to guess suits blind?

Sometimes, but if everything else is right and only the turn or river suit is wrong, the game corrects it and you win.
