Nessi board for 3 ottobre 2026: sixteen Italian words such as MOLLETTA, LAPILLO, CRATERE and CANDEGGINA, with four mistake dots and the Mescola and Conferma buttons

Nessi is Cruciverba Lab's daily Italian take on the Connections format. Sixteen Italian words hide four groups of four; you pick four that belong together and confirm, with four mistakes allowed before the day closes.

About Nessi (Cruciverba Lab)

Nessi (Italian for links) is one of the daily games on Cruciverba Lab, an Italian puzzle site with a daily crossword and word games such as Alveare, Catena and Chiave. Each day sixteen Italian words hide four groups of four, and nobody tells you what links them.

You select four words you think belong together and confirm. A correct group rises to the top with its link written above it; a wrong one costs one of your four mistakes, and after the fourth the day closes and the remaining groups are revealed. Colours show difficulty once a group is found: yellow is the easiest, purple the hardest, with green and blue in between. Solving the groups in order from yellow to purple, the rainbow, scores more and earns a badge.

Every day also includes a trap: four words, one from each real group, chosen to look like a group of their own. Words come from the Italian dictionary rather than being translated, and proper names are left out. You can play without an account; a free account keeps your result and adds it to the leaderboards.

It suits Italian speakers and learners who enjoy the NYT Connections format and want one in Italian.

How to play Nessi (Cruciverba Lab)

  1. Open Nessi on cruciverba-lab.it.
  2. Tap four words you think share a link, then confirm.
  3. A right group moves to the top with its link shown; a wrong guess uses one of four mistakes.
  4. Find all four groups, ideally from easiest to hardest for the rainbow bonus.

Tips

  • Look for the trap: four words that seem to fit together, one from each real group.
  • Leave the hardest group for last if you want the rainbow bonus.
  • Use Mescola (shuffle) to see the words in a new order when stuck.
