Lexagon puzzle board: 19 hexagon letter tiles on a meadow background, a definition hint for a noun, and the word bank of blanks below showing 0 of 76 words found

Lexagon is a free daily word puzzle on a board of 19 hexagon letter tiles. You swipe along neighbouring tiles to spell words and try to find every word on the board for the most points. A clue phrase points to the Lexagon, the longest word, and finding it unlocks unlimited definition hints. Past puzzles are free in an archive.

About Lexagon

Lexagon gives everyone the same numbered board each day: 19 hexagon tiles, each with a letter. You swipe along adjacent tiles to make words, using each tile only once per word. Below the board, the word bank shows every word in the puzzle as blanks in alphabetical order, which helps you see which lengths and first letters are still missing.

The longest word on the board is the Lexagon, and a clue phrase under the grid hints at it. Every three words you find earns a definition hint, which gives a word's meaning and first letter, and once you find the Lexagon the hints become unlimited, so every puzzle can be finished. Words score by their letters and length, in the manner of Scrabble meets Boggle, and bonus words add more points and gems.

Puzzles are released at 8am CST, and a calendar archive goes back to puzzle #1 in June 2026 and is free to play. You can play as a guest with progress saved in the browser, or create an account to sync it and appear on the per-puzzle, weekly and all-time leaderboards. The site has several themes and a choice of hex or stacked tiles. It is made by @thepianomatt.

How to play Lexagon

  1. Open lexagon.com and press Play on today's numbered puzzle.
  2. Swipe along adjacent hexagon tiles to spell a word; each tile can be used once per word.
  3. Check the word bank below the board to see how many words of each length remain.
  4. Read the clue phrase and look for the Lexagon, the longest word on the board.
  5. Use definition hints when stuck and keep going until the board is cleared, then share your result.

Tips

  • Find the Lexagon early: once you have it, definition hints are unlimited.
  • The word bank is in alphabetical order, so a gap between two found words narrows down the missing one.
  • Save your hints for the long words; short words are easier to find by trying tile combinations.
