Letterbox (Lost Art Games)
Drop the day's letters into a grid so every row, column and diagonal spells a word.
Every day: One letter grid a day, the same for every player, with a daily leaderboard; the grid grows through the week, from 3x3 on Monday to Wednesday to 3x4 on Thursday and Friday and 4x4 at the weekend. New puzzle: Midnight local time (the puzzle is fetched by your device's date).

Letterbox is a short daily word puzzle from Lost Art Games. You drop letters from a bank into the columns of a small grid, like counters in Connect Four, and try to make valid words across, down and diagonally before the clock runs out.
About Letterbox (Lost Art Games)
Letterbox gives you a small empty grid and a bank of letters. You pick a letter and a column, and the letter falls to the lowest free cell. When the grid is full, every row, column and diagonal is checked: three-letter words score 10 points, four-letter words 15, and a perfect grid where every line is a word earns a 20-point bonus. Whatever time is left on the clock is added on top.
The puzzle is the same for everyone each day and has its own leaderboard, with past days' rankings kept. Difficulty follows the week: Monday to Wednesday are 3x3 grids, Thursday and Friday are 3x4, and Saturday and Sunday are 4x4, with more starting time for the bigger grids. Running out of time does not end the game; it only stops your time bonus, and you can keep placing letters until the grid is full. Your share card colours each tile by how many words it belongs to.
Letterbox is one of six dailies from Lost Art Games, alongside Scuotes, D3C1PH3R, fanimoji, 29GO and alikely. It suits players who like quick word puzzles with a bit of planning, since gravity means you cannot fill the top row first.
How to play Letterbox (Lost Art Games)
- Open the day's Letterbox and press Start Game to start the clock.
- Select a letter from the bank, then click a column to drop it to the lowest free cell.
- Plan the order of your drops so rows, columns and diagonals form valid words.
- Fill the whole grid; each word scores, a perfect grid adds a bonus and remaining time adds more.
- Check your rank on the daily leaderboard and share your colour card.
Tips
- Work out the bottom row first: those letters go in first and cannot be moved.
- Diagonals count, so place shared letters at the corners and in the centre carefully.
- The timer only affects bonus points, so take a moment to plan rather than drop letters in a rush.
