About IQiQGame Waffle

Waffle on iQiQGame is a word puzzle played on a 5 by 5 grid with four holes in it, so the 21 letters form a waffle shape. Three words read across on the first, middle and last rows, and three read down the first, middle and last columns. All the letters you need are already on the board; they are just in the wrong places.

You never type. Instead you swap two tiles that touch, side by side, above and below or on a diagonal, and each swap spends one of your 15 moves. When a whole word across or down is right it turns green, and the counter under the board shows how many of the six words are done. Finishing with swaps to spare earns more stars, up to five.

The Daily tab gives everyone the same waffle each day, and the Unlimited tab hands out practice boards whenever you want more. iQiQGame added it to its DLE Games section in October 2026, beside its own versions of Wordle, Quordle and Numble, and it plays in a desktop or phone browser with no download and no sign-up.

It follows the idea of the original Waffle, so players who know that game will feel at home. The difference here is in the moves: swaps are limited to neighbouring tiles, diagonals included, so planning which tile travels where matters more. It suits anyone who likes a short daily word puzzle that is about ordering letters rather than guessing them.

How to play IQiQGame Waffle

1. Open the Daily tab to get the day's waffle of 21 letters.
2. Look along the three rows and three columns for the five-letter words the letters could make.
3. Click a tile, then click a neighbouring tile (beside, above, below or diagonal) to swap them; each swap uses one of your 15 moves.
4. Keep swapping until each word across and down turns green.
5. Solve all six words before the moves run out; the more swaps you have left, the more stars you get.

Tips

• Settle the four corner tiles early: each one sits in both a row word and a column word, so one good swap there can fix two words.
• Before every swap, check that it puts at least one letter into its right place; a swap that fixes nothing wastes a move.
• Lock in the word that is closest to done first, then use what is left of the grid to work out the harder words.
