Part of a Huedoku board: two 2x3 boxes of coloured squares in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and blank white, some marked with a dot

Huedoku is BuzzFeed's daily colour sudoku. A 6x6 grid split into 2x3 boxes starts with some squares coloured, and you fill the rest so every row, column and box holds red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple exactly once.

About Huedoku (BuzzFeed)

Huedoku is one of the daily games on BuzzFeed Games, the site's puzzle section, and each puzzle is numbered and dated: number 132 fell on 3 October 2026, so it began in the spring of that year.

The rules are those of sudoku on a smaller board. The grid is six squares by six, divided into six boxes of two rows by three columns, and the symbols are colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Some squares are filled from the start. You pick a colour from the palette and tap an empty square to fill it, until every row, every column and every box contains each colour once.

Because there is nothing to read, it is quick to pick up, and the 6x6 size makes it a short daily solve rather than a long one. Past puzzles are in an archive, and the page can notify you when the next one drops. The site carries ads.

It suits sudoku players who want a lighter daily grid, and anyone who finds colours easier to scan than digits.

How to play Huedoku (BuzzFeed)

  1. Open today's Huedoku on BuzzFeed Games and choose a mode.
  2. Look at the coloured squares already placed in the 6x6 grid.
  3. Tap a colour in the palette to select it, then tap an empty square to fill it.
  4. Make sure each row, column and 2x3 box ends with all six colours once.
  5. Fill the whole grid to finish the day's puzzle.

Tips

  • Start with the rows, columns or boxes that already have four or five colours.
  • A colour missing from a box can often go in only one square once you check its row and column.
  • Scan one colour at a time across the whole board, as you would a digit in sudoku.
