About Fakerz Dozen

Fakerz Dozen takes the idea of spotting the lie and builds a daily round around it. Every puzzle opens with today's category and a few lines from its author setting the theme, so the round reads a bit like a quiz column.

Then thirteen answers appear. Twelve are real members of the category and one is invented or out of place. You tap the ones you are sure of, and every real one adds to your score. Tap the Faker and the round ends, so the skill lies in knowing when to stop as much as in what you know.

Scores add up across the month on a monthly leaderboard. Each month you also get a few Doublers, which you can switch on before a round to double the base score you earn, so it pays to save them for a category you know well. A new dozen comes out every weekday.

It suits trivia players who like a little risk in their score and enjoy themed categories that are written with some humour.

How to play Fakerz Dozen

1. Open Fakerz Dozen and press Play to see today's category and its introduction.
2. Decide whether to use one of your monthly Doublers on this round, then press Start.
3. Tap the answers you are sure really belong to the category; each one scores.
4. Stop or keep going: tapping the Faker ends the round at once.
5. Check your total on the monthly leaderboard and come back the next weekday.

• Read the category introduction closely; it often hints at the angle the fake will take.
• Save Doublers for categories you know well, since a wrong tap wastes the round.
