Epic Words how-to-play card: a board of twelve two-letter tiles such as VE, LF, SO, IM in two columns before a castle, beside the words How to Play Epic Words

Epic Words is a free word puzzle from Logic Loft Games in which every tile holds half a word. A round hides six words in twelve two-letter tiles, and you pair a left tile with a right one to make each. Each day a Daily Quest sets three rounds that every player gets, alongside a fifty-kingdom journey to play at your own pace.

About Epic Words

Epic Words is built on one idea: you never get single letters, only fragments. A round puts twelve tiles in two columns of six, each tile showing two letters, and exactly six words are hidden among them. Tap a tile on the left and one on the right, and if the two halves make a real word the pair locks in and both tiles take the same colour. The halves of a word are scattered on purpose, so reading straight across a row rarely works.

A correct pair earns 5 Renown and a wrong one costs 2. Any other real word you can build from a left and a right tile is a bonus word worth 10, and a round with every bonus word found, no wrong guess and no hint pays an extra completion bonus. Renown is the score behind the Hall of Fame leaderboard and cannot be bought; Gold, earned from rounds and logins, pays for hints and tools. Press and hold a solved tile to read the word's definition.

The daily part is the Daily Quest: once a day the game sets three rounds, the same three for every player in the world, and finishing them pays 50 Renown and a collectible icon. The day rolls over at midnight Pacific, consecutive quests build a streak, and a Streak Freeze bought with Gold covers one missed day. Around the quest sits a journey through fifty kingdoms with a story, a harder three-column board called the Lower Depths from Kingdom 6, and a Joust. Logic Loft Games, the small studio behind Pairdle, released Epic Words in February 2026 on the web and iOS. It is free, with ads on phones offering extra hints.

How to play Epic Words

  1. Open Epic Words and start the day's Daily Quest.
  2. Look at the twelve two-letter tiles: six words are hidden, each made of one left tile and one right tile.
  3. Tap a left tile, then a right tile; a real word locks in and both tiles take the same colour.
  4. Try other pairs for bonus words, which score double.
  5. Finish all three quest rounds before midnight Pacific to earn the reward and keep your streak.

Tips

  • The two halves of a word are never on the same row, so read across the columns, not along them.
  • Wrong pairs cost Renown, so say a pair out loud before you tap it.
  • Hunt bonus words early in the journey: boards in the first kingdoms hold about four, later ones far fewer.
  • Using a hint gives up the perfect-round bonus for that round.
