daycrumb is a free browser site of small daily puzzles: each day it serves three games from a rotation of six, mixing word ladders, letter swaps, path drawing, colour sorting and two trivia formats. The set takes about ten minutes, needs no account, and a streak and an archive of every past day bring players back.

About Daycrumb

daycrumb is a small site of short daily puzzle games that you play in the browser, on a computer or a phone, with no sign-up. Each day it puts up three games, picked in rotation from a set of six, and every player gets the same numbered puzzle in each. A coming-up page shows which three games are due over the next week, and new puzzles arrive at midnight UTC.

The six games are a mix. Rungs is a word ladder: change one letter at a time to turn the start word into the target, with a step count and a shortest solution to aim for. Crosswire lays sixteen letters around a frame of four hidden words, and you swap tiles until every word reads correctly, guided by green and amber colouring, within a fixed number of swaps. Loose Ends is a path puzzle on a 7 by 7 grid: join each pair of lettered dots so the paths never cross and every square is used. Last Drop is a bottle sort: pour five colours between seven bottles until each colour sits alone, with three undos and no restart. Before or After gives you six historical events to drag into order in five tries, with a couple of dates you can reveal, and lists its sources once you finish. One More is a push-your-luck trivia game: three boards, each a question with nine answers of which six fit, where you keep your points or risk them on one more pick.

The site counts a streak for days you play, keeps a record if you choose to log in, and has an archive of every day back to the first, where past puzzles can be played without counting toward the streak. The makers say they test each puzzle before publishing it, and the games can be played by touch, mouse or keyboard, with screen reader support.

daycrumb suits someone who wants a short, varied set each morning rather than one long puzzle, in the way a newspaper puzzle page or Puzzmo mixes several kinds.

How to play Daycrumb

  1. Open daycrumb.com and look at Today's games: three puzzles are listed for the day.
  2. Press Play on a game; a short how-to card explains its rules the first time, and you can skip it.
  3. Solve the puzzle: change one letter at a time in Rungs, swap tiles in Crosswire, draw paths in Loose Ends, pour colours in Last Drop, order events in Before or After, or pick fitting answers in One More.
  4. Finish all three to complete the day and keep your streak going.
  5. Come back after midnight UTC for the next three, or open the Archive to play a past day.

Tips

  • Check the coming-up page to see which games are due this week.
  • In Loose Ends, joining every pair is not enough: the puzzle only ends when every square is filled, so route long pairs around the edges.
  • In Last Drop there is no restart and only three undos, so plan a few pours ahead and use the empty bottles as space.
  • In One More, points kept on earlier boards are safe, so bank them once the remaining answers look doubtful.
  • Archive puzzles do not count toward your streak, so play today's set first.
