Find the day's Metroid rooms on the map, five rounds a mission.

Every day: A numbered, dated Daily Mission, the same for everyone (#78 on 7 October 2026, set in Metroid: Zero Mission): five rounds, each showing a room you must locate on the game's map for points. New puzzle: Once a day; the mission is dated and the site does not state the time.

ZebesGuessr round 1 of 5: an unknown Metroid room on the left and the Brinstar map with its area tabs, where the player marks the location

ZebesGuessr is a fan-made map-guessing game for the 2D Metroid games. Each day's numbered Daily Mission picks one game, then shows you five rooms in turn; you pick the area and point to where each sits on the map, scoring more the closer you get.

About ZebesGuessr

ZebesGuessr works like GeoGuessr for the planet Zebes and the other 2D Metroid worlds. A mission shows an unknown signal: a screenshot of one room from the game. Beside it is the game's full map, split into tabs for its areas, such as Brinstar, Norfair, Crateria, Kraid, Ridley, Tourian and Chozodia in Zero Mission. You switch to the area you think the room is in, zoom in, and mark the spot.

Each mission has five rounds and a running score. The Daily Mission is numbered and dated and picks the game for everyone; on 7 October 2026 it was mission 78, in Metroid: Zero Mission. Outside the daily you can start a random mission and choose the game, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion or Metroid: Zero Mission, and a difficulty from Familiar Ground to Deep Archive, its levels named after places from the Metroid Prime games.

The game is free and fan-made, in a pixel style that matches the games. It suits Metroid players who have explored these maps many times and want to test how well they remember every corridor and shaft.

Tips

  • Look at the colours and tile style first: each area has its own palette.
  • Doors, save rooms and elevator shafts make good landmarks on the map.
  • Practise a game you know less well in Random Mission before its turn comes up in the daily.
