WordleCup
Find the day's mystery footballer in six tries from league, club, nation and more.
Every day: One mystery footballer a day, the same for everyone, found in six tries from eight clues (league, club, nation, position, age, height, shirt number and preferred foot); daily NBA and NFL versions run alongside. New puzzle: Midnight UTC (stated in the site's FAQ).

WordleCup is a daily player guessing game. In its Soccer Wordle you have six tries to find a hidden footballer, and each guess is compared with the answer on eight clues coloured green for a match, yellow for close and grey for no match. Basketball and NFL versions use the same format.
About WordleCup
WordleCup, also called Soccer Wordle or Football Wordle on the site, swaps letters for player facts. Each day one footballer is hidden, picked by an algorithm from the date so that everyone gets the same player. You have six tries to name them.
Every guess is checked on eight clues: league, club, nation, position, age, height, shirt number and preferred foot. Green means an exact match. Yellow means close: a league in the same country, a club in the same league, a nation on the same continent, a position in the same group, or a number within a threshold, which for age is usually two years. Numeric clues also show arrows telling you to go higher or lower. Grey means no match.
The same game runs for NBA basketball and NFL American football, each with its own pool of players chosen to be recognisable. A new player appears in each at midnight UTC. Only today's puzzle can be played; there is no archive yet.
You can play as a guest with progress kept on your device, or sign in with Google to keep your streak across devices. After a game, the share button copies your coloured grid. The site also has other football games, such as a career path and a face quiz, and may show ads.
How to play WordleCup
- Open WordleCup's Soccer Wordle and type the name of a footballer.
- Read the eight clues: green is exact, yellow is close, grey is no match, and arrows show higher or lower for numbers.
- Use the clues to choose your next guess.
- Find the player within six tries, then share your grid or try the basketball and NFL versions.
Tips
- Start with a well known player from a big league so the league and nation clues narrow things down at once.
- A yellow club means the right league: switch to another club in the same league.
- Use age and shirt number arrows together to cut the list of candidates quickly.
- Remember yellow nation means same continent, so stay on that continent for the next guess.
