Wordie daily board: an empty grid of six rows of five boxes with score, best and par indicators

Wordie is Ponder Club's daily word-guessing game in the familiar six-guess, colour-feedback format. Each day there is one secret word, the same for everyone. You type guesses and the letters turn colours to show hits, misplaced letters and misses. There is a full archive, no sign-up and no pop-ups.

About Wordie

Wordie is a free daily word game from Ponder Club, a word-guessing puzzle in the style many players know well. Each day there is one secret word, shared by everyone.

You get six guesses. After each guess, every letter is coloured: one colour means the letter is correct and in the right place, another means it is in the word but in a different spot, and a third means it is not in the word at all. You use that feedback to close in on the answer.

If you run out of guesses, you can choose to keep going until you crack the word, or reveal the answer. There is a full dated archive behind a calendar icon, the on-screen keyboard supports QWERTY, AZERTY and QWERTZ layouts, and Ponder Club says the game is free with no paywall and no sign-up.

It suits players who enjoy daily word-guessing puzzles and want a clean, account-free version with an archive to catch up on.

How to play Wordie

  1. Type a starting word as your first guess.
  2. Read the colours: they show letters that are correct and placed, present but misplaced, or absent.
  3. Use those clues to choose your next guess.
  4. Keep refining within your six guesses.
  5. Guess the secret word before your guesses run out.

Tips

  • Open with a word rich in common vowels and consonants to learn a lot quickly.
  • Reuse confirmed letters in their known spots on every later guess.
  • If stuck, the option to keep guessing past six lets you finish without spoiling the answer.
