Word Sprint
Guess the day's secret word from five related hints, in five tries.
Every day: One secret word a day for everyone, with five related hint words, to guess in five tries; each guess shows a closeness percentage. New puzzle: 7 pm Eastern Time, as the game states.

Word Sprint, once called Word Chase, is a short daily guessing game. You get hint words that all relate to a secret word, such as metal, element, laundry and magnet, and you have five guesses to name it. Each guess shows a percentage for how close in meaning it is.
About Word Sprint
Word Sprint is a daily word puzzle that sits on the Semantle family of sites. Each day there is one secret word and a set of five hint words related to it. On one day the hints were metal, element, laundry, magnet and man, and the answer was iron; the day before, hearty, warm, savory, creamy and broth pointed to soup.
You have five guesses. Each one is scored with a percentage showing how close it is in meaning to the secret word, worked out from word similarity in the way Semantle does it. A high score tells you that you are in the right area even when the word is wrong, so you can adjust before the next try.
The game started out as Word Chase and has been renamed Word Sprint; its page now points players to a different game called Word Chase on CleverGoat. A new puzzle comes every day at 7 pm Eastern Time, which the page converts to your local time. There is also a mode for puzzles that players submit themselves.
It is free with ads, needs no account and takes a minute or two, which makes it a quick warm-up next to Semantle or Cemantle.
How to play Word Sprint
- Open Word Sprint and read the hint words for the day.
- Think of a word that links all of them and type it as your guess.
- Check the percentage that shows how close your guess is in meaning.
- Use the score and the hints to refine your next guess.
- Find the secret word within five guesses.
Tips
- Look for the one word that fits the oddest hint; it usually narrows things most.
- A high percentage on a wrong guess means a near synonym or a related idea, so try a more common form of it.
- Hints can use different senses of the word, as laundry and metal both do for iron.
- Short, everyday nouns are common answers.
