Unicorner is a free daily football quiz that rewards deep knowledge over the first name that comes to mind. Each day brings five prompts, and for each you have 25 seconds to name one valid player, club, country, manager or stadium. Popular answers earn few points; the rarest can earn a Screamer.

About Unicorner

Unicorner is a football trivia game built around the unicorn, the valid answer almost nobody else gives. Each day it sets five prompts, such as players who fit a club and a fact, and every prompt has a long list of right answers. You name one, within 25 seconds.

The scoring is what sets it apart. Any correct answer counts, but the more players who gave the same name, the fewer points it earns. Answers climb through football-flavoured tiers named Tap-in, Header, Volley, Bicycle Kick and Screamer, with the Screamer reserved for the rarest picks. So the question is never only whether you know an answer; it is whether you know one that others will not think of.

The five questions are the same for everyone that day, and the page keeps a streak of the days you have played and shows how your score compares with others. Players can send in their own questions with answers from obvious to obscure, and a reported answer can be checked and added. It needs no download or sign-up. An Infinity mode with an archive of past games is listed as coming soon.

It suits football fans who know the squad players and loan signings as well as the stars, and players of rarity-scored grids who want a quicker daily round.

How to play Unicorner

  1. Open Unicorner and start the day's game.
  2. Read the first prompt and think past the obvious answer.
  3. Type one valid player, club, country, manager or stadium within 25 seconds.
  4. See how rare your answer was and how many points it earned.
  5. Answer all five prompts, then compare your score and share it.

Tips

  • The first name that comes to mind is usually the one everyone gives; go one level deeper.
  • Squad players, short loans and lower-league spells are where Screamers hide.
  • Have a safe answer ready in case the clock runs low; a correct common answer beats none.
  • If you think a valid answer was rejected, report it from the page so it can be checked.
