The Daily Leak
Un-redact a mock top-secret document built on today's news, using scanner tools and your vocabulary.
Every day: One numbered leaked document a day per language: a spoof secret report spun from a real news headline, with the same redacted words for every player. New puzzle: Once a day.

The Daily Leak gives you a numbered spoof intelligence document each day, written around a real news headline, with key words blacked out. You use a letter scanner and a UV tool to reveal clues and guess each hidden word, racing the clock while trying to keep your Security Clearance Level high.
About The Daily Leak
The Daily Leak is a browser word game dressed up as a leak of classified papers. Each day's leak is numbered and starts from a real news story, for example astronauts reaching the International Space Station on a fast flight, and spins it into a tongue-in-cheek secret report from an agency such as the NSA. About ten words in the text are redacted, and your job is to restore them.
You click a redacted word to work on it. The letter scanner shows you letters, and the UV reveal tool exposes more of a hidden word. A correct guess earns you more tool uses, while a wrong one costs you a Security Clearance Level. When you run out of a tool you can recharge it, also at the price of one level.
Your result is the time you took and the clearance level you kept, from Intelligence Officer up to Editor-in-Chief. Everyone playing in the same language gets the same leak that day, so you can share a result card, compare a game step by step with a friend using its game id, and see whether you hold the day's record. The game is available in US English and French, has an archive of past leaks, and offers an optional account for stats and awards.
It suits players who like fill-in-the-blank word puzzles and reading context clues, with a light spy theme on top of the day's news.
How to play The Daily Leak
- Read the leaked document and its headline.
- Use the letter scanner tool to reveal letters.
- Click a redacted word and type your guess.
- Use the UV reveal tool when you need more help with a word.
- Restore every redaction as fast as you can while keeping your clearance level, then share or compare your result.
Tips
- Read the whole sentence around a redaction first; the context often narrows it to one or two words.
- Wrong guesses cost a clearance level, so use the tools before guessing when you are unsure.
- Solve the easier redactions early, since correct answers earn extra tool uses for the harder ones.
