The Irish Times publishes a daily sudoku in three difficulties, Easy, Medium and Hard, on its crosswords and puzzles page. Each grid is dated and older ones stay in an archive; playing needs an Irish Times digital subscription.

About Sudoku (The Irish Times)

Sudoku sits on The Irish Times crosswords and puzzles page alongside Simplex, Crosaire, The Daily Eight and the News Quiz. The page offers three daily grids, Easy, Medium and Hard, each with its own date picker, so you can choose your level or work up through all three.

The rules are the classic ones: fill the 9x9 grid so that every row, every column and every 3x3 box holds the digits 1 to 9 exactly once. The puzzles run in the PuzzleMe player from Amuse Labs, which offers pencil marks and check and reveal tools, in the browser or in The Irish Times app.

The page asks visitors to subscribe to play, so you need an Irish Times digital subscription and to be signed in. Subscribers can also go back through earlier dates from the archive.
