The NZZ Sudoku card: the word SUDOKU over a 9x9 grid with given and filled digits, a highlighted column and note markers, on a background of newspaper pages

The Neue Zürcher Zeitung's online Sudoku brings a new 9x9 puzzle every day, free and without registration, at several levels of difficulty. Fill the grid so every row, column and box holds the digits 1 to 9 once.

About Sudoku (NZZ)

The NZZ games page, run for the Zurich paper by kr3m, offers a free sudoku that is renewed every day, with separate pages for easy, hard and very hard grids. There is no sign-up and no limit on how often you play.

The rules are classic: some digits are given, and you fill the rest so that each row, each column and each 3x3 box contains 1 to 9 exactly once. Digits are chosen from a small wheel of numbers that opens around the selected square, with a bin to erase an entry, and the levels run from gentle grids for beginners to long, hard ones.

The same page sits beside the NZZ's daily crossword and other games such as SudoKen and Street.

It suits German-speaking readers who want a free daily sudoku from a newspaper they trust.
