El Mundo publishes a new sudoku every day at each of four levels on its free games pages: fácil, medio, difícil and rápido, a short one meant to be solved in a few minutes. Each opens the puzzle for your date, and earlier days are in an archive.

About Sudoku (El Mundo)

El Mundo, the Madrid newspaper, runs four daily sudokus on its games pages. Fácil is for beginners, medio is a step up, difícil is meant for experienced players who want a real challenge, and rápido is a quick grid you can finish in a few minutes. Each level has a new board every day, the same for every player.

The rules are the classic ones: fill the 9x9 grid so that every row, column and 3x3 box holds the digits 1 to 9 once each. The games run in the browser with an advert before the puzzle, and a free El Mundo registration saves your progress across devices. Earlier days stay playable from an archive.

The same pages carry the paper's other dailies: the Crucigrama, the Wordle-style Palabro, Letrerío, a word search, Memory and the ¿Cuánto sabes? news quiz. The sudokus need no Spanish, so they suit anyone who wants a free daily grid at a level of their choosing.

How to play Sudoku (El Mundo)

  1. Open El Mundo's games page and pick a sudoku level: fácil, medio, difícil or rápido.
  2. Fill each empty square with a digit from 1 to 9.
  3. Make sure no row, column or 3x3 box repeats a digit.
  4. Finish the grid, then try the next level or an earlier day from the archive.

Tips

  • Start with rápido or fácil to warm up, then move to difícil.
  • Scan one digit at a time across the whole grid to find easy placements.
  • On harder grids, note candidates in each square and look for pairs that rule out digits elsewhere.
