Crucigrama is the daily crossword of El Mundo, the Madrid newspaper, on its free games pages. El Mundo describes it as the classic definitions pastime, with new grids every day: you read a short definition for each across and down answer and fill the squares with the word that fits.

The clues and answers are in Spanish, so it suits Spanish speakers and confident learners. The grid is a definitions crossword rather than a cryptic one, so most clues are a synonym or a short description of the answer, and the crossings help you through the harder ones.

The game is free and runs in the browser with an advert before it starts. El Mundo asks you to register, at no cost, to keep playing and to save your progress across devices.
